All You Should Know About Cold Pressed Flax Seed Oil

Cold-pressed flaxseed oil or linseed oil is very sensitive to light. It is a polyunsaturated oil that quickly oxidizes, giving it a bitter taste and, later, rancid. The culprits of this process are oxygen, light, and moisture. Therefore, linseed oil should be stored in a cool, dark place, especially after it has been opened.
Even if we keep it in the fridge (at 4°C), after a few days it becomes bitter. Thus, it is advisable to buy flax oil in small bottles and consume it in less than four weeks. Another option is to buy a large container and divide the oil into smaller bottles that can be well sealed and, if possible, fill them to the top.
Our advice: If you are not going to use the oil for a few days, freeze it and take out it when you need it. The melting point of flaxseed oil or linseed oil is between -16 and -20°C. Since the oil does not expand when frozen, there is no danger of the glass flying. If you store it in a solid-state, the aging of the oil is drastically reduced.
Why is flaxseed oil so healthy?
There is no oil that is truly healthy, since, like white sugar, it is a non-natural concentrate.
